With special guest, former weather presenter Rob Gell

Part-music, part-weather forecast. The Griffyn Ensemble celebrates National Science Week with a performance inspired by the weather in all four seasons.

Geomorphologist Rob Gell, who was a Melbourne weather presenter for 30 years, will be on-stage with simulated weather forecasts whilst the Griffyn Ensemble perform music spanning genre and geography. An entertaining and light-hearted look at how the Sciences have influenced the Arts in a truly unique fashion.

Featuring re-imaginings of works by Crowded House; contemporary art music from Urugua, Latvia, and Japan, chamber jazz and song by American musical maverick Alec Wilder and George Gershwin; divine sounds from Debussy and Villa-Lobos, and works by Australian composers Elena Kats-Chernin and Michael Sollis.
