The Griffyn Ensemble has built a reputation over the last five years as being Canberra’s premiere chamber ensemble. In 2012, two Griffyns will be moving out of Canberra, providing the opportunity of a national concert series and the challenge of remaining uniquely Canberran.
This year’s Concert Series offers audiences three themed concerts inspired by current affairs, astronomy and meteorology, presented in some new and interesting venues. Once again, the Ensemble strive to challenge audiences with Australian premieres and eclectic cross-genre programming.
Griffyn has made such a strong connection with the local community through their music, and feel their audience are part of the Griffyn family. And while subscriptions continue to grow, more funding is needed to cover travel expenses in addition to ongoing costs such as venue hire, sheet music and production costs.
We have set a donations target of $6000 this year, and with your support Griffyn will be able to continue providing chamber music excellence in Canberra. Thanks to the Australia Business Arts Foundation (AbaF), you can now make donation and receive a tax-deductible receipt. AbaF will take your preference of supporting the Griffyn Ensemble into consideration when allocating grants.
Thank you again for supporting the Griffyn Ensemble, and we look forward to seeing you at the next concert.
